La importancia de escuchar a tu cuerpo

¿Alguna vez te has sentido mal sin saber muy bien cuál es el motivo de dicha sensación?

Estás intranquila, insatisfecha, temerosa y hasta un tanto vulnerable ante la incomprensión de lo que tu cuerpo te quiere decir.

Te preguntas una y otra vez qué es lo que te pasa. Repasas tus días, tus conversaciones, tus pendientes, deudas, deberes y lo único que sucede es que comienzas a sentirte más y más confundida, perdida e incluso ahogada.

El aire parece faltarte, tu cuerpo habla y lo único que sabes es que algo no anda bien.

Quizá ya has oído una infinidad de veces que el cuerpo y la mente están conectados y que para que uno esté bien, el otro también tiene que estarlo.

A qué se refiere esta conexión, en dónde se vende la píldora del equilibrio y el balance emocional; cómo le hago si todo a mi alrededor me empuja a vivir con los nervios de punta y a hacer una tormenta en un vaso de agua.

En esta ocasión no te voy a decir que todo va a estar bien, que tomes vitaminas, hagas ejercicio y sonrías como si no tuvieras problemas. Ya que todos tenemos problemas y eso no tiene por qué tener una carga negativa, necesariamente.

Tener dificultades y sentirse mal también está bien. Cuando estamos pasando por momentos desagradables y somos capaces de reconocerlo, es cuando podemos empezar a hacer cambios significativos en nuestra vida.

El cuerpo nos habla cuando las cosas no andan bien y nosotras las dejamos pasar. Las gripas, los dolores musculares, de cabeza, la colitis, la gastritis, la dificultad para ir al baño, el insomnio y hasta las alergias, por mencionar algunos padecimientos, son las palabras del cuerpo que nos gritan demandando atención.

Es elemental que prestes atención a tu cuerpo, a tus emociones, a tus pensamientos y a tus reacciones. Todo está conectado y todo lo que nos sucede es causal.

La importancia de escuchar a tu cuerpo

Estar enojada y no decirlo, sentir alguna injusticia, darte cuenta que alguien se está aprovechando de ti, permitir que te hablen como no te gusta, pasa por la mente y por el cuerpo.

Muchas veces podemos racionalizarlo y pensar, “bueno, así le habla mi jefe a todos” o “quizá no quiso decir lo que dijo mi novio o mi amiga”, tal vez dejamos pasar muchas cosas que nos molestan por justificar a las personas que queremos, o simplemente para llevar la fiesta en paz.

Pero la realidad es que no tienes por qué hacerlo, no tienes por qué dejarte de nadie, no tienes por qué aguantar nada que no te guste, y con esto no estoy insinuado que debas pelear con todo el mundo.

Me gustaría que te prestaras más atención, que ubiques tus malestares e intentes relacionarlos con las situaciones que te pasan a diario. ¿Cuándo te duele la garganta?, ¿cuándo te enfermas del estómago?, ¿hay alguna constante entre tus días o situaciones y los dolores que padeces?

Busca herramientas que te ayuden a darte cuenta de esto. Anota tus enojos y malestares emocionales y revisa cómo reacciona tu cuerpo. Una vez reconocidos y con la cabeza fría, haz un plan para cambiar las cosas.

Habla, dialoga, pide perdón o pide que te pidan perdón. No tienes que comentar cómo te sientes necesariamente, entiendo que esto puede llegar a vulnerarnos con algunas personas, pero sí puedes hablar, negociar y hacer acuerdos buscando siempre un beneficio para tu bienestar.

Recuerda que para estar bien física, mental y emocionalmente, tienes que observarte, escucharte y actuar por ello.
